When Done

When you are finished, remember you still need to earn your minute points. To earn the points, you need to do something productive. Make sure you have completed all assignments for all chapters first. You can contract with me to do almost anything using the computers that relates to school or your interests. Below are some examples. Don’t forget to add your work to the Goals&Effort daily sheet. Send me an email when you decide what you're doing.

  1. Help someone with what you've learned. I've asked the staff if they need help. If they do, I may ask you if you would be willing to create documents for them. This would sure be nice to do for other people.
  2. Learn Inspiration. This is a graphical outlining tool. After you learn the program I want you to either create a story outline or a concept map about a subject that interests you. Go to www.inspiration.com for more ideas. For examples that have been created, see http://www.inspiration.com/vlearning/index.cfm?fuseaction=example.
  3. Work on homework or study for finals. Use the tools from this or other computer classes to help you such as creating an outline in Word, creating a PowerPoint presentation, searching the Internet.
  4. Create a document about something that interests you. For example, create a PowerPoint of how you might accomplish your dreams.
  5. Create a story. Some people have had fun doing this in PowerPoint, but you can still use Word if you want.
  6. Look at any of the computer books I have and work on any of the assignments.
  7. Bring a book, read it, and summarize it for other students (see the JAJAGS library Web site).
  8. Any other ideas? If you want to use the computers for something else productive, let me know.
