Ms. Davis' Whiteboard

Today is
jdavis(at)jacomputers.org

This will count as your white board bellwork. Check this everyday for assignments, prizes, news, etc. The white board should be completed within the first 10 minutes of class. For the optional whiteboards, do not use the Internet.

You are required to check this Whiteboard every day. Assignments are not optional unless they say they are, all emails must have a subject and your first and last name at the bottom. If you are absent, read the whiteboard for that day and do the assignment, if not optional. If you do not do a required assignment, you get 20 points deducted from your minutes grade.

5/11/20 - Read the directions for your final carefully. For many classes you do not have to complete everything. For example, if you are in Intro to Computers you will complete one Website, one game, and one 3-D design for the choices provided. If you have questions about your final requirements, please email.

Click here for your project final.

5/7/20 - Remember to check Google Classroom for attendance and notes.

4/1/20 - Check Google Classroom EVERY DAY!

As we continue to work from home, attendance will be on Google classroom. I will post things here occasionally but there will always be directions in Google Classroom to go to the whiteboard if necessary. Each day I do have to take attendance so make sure to complete the attendance task by 2 pm every day. Having a 2 pm deadline allows me time to make phone calls home if necessary before the attendance is due.

3/20/20 - Attendance today is through Google Classroom. There is no whiteboard.

3/19/20 - Quiz today. Use my website on the Quiz! Please take the quiz before 2 pm as this will also serve as your attendance today. For dates on the quiz, both the senior deadlines and those for everyone else will work.

click here for your quiz and yes I realize much of this doesn't apply until we are back in school but you can still find the answers on my syllabus.

Make sure you read the messages on Classroom so you know what to do next. Email if you have questions. Those of you who have already taken Intro to Computers have to send me an email.

3/18/20 - Required Whiteboard - # 2

Don't forget to continue to read the instructions carefully. Email Subject: Whiteboard 3/18/20. Tell me what you think of online school so far. I know it's really only been one day but imagine if this goes on for weeks or longer. What is your favorite part of doing school online? What do you miss most about not being at school? Kansas just announced they will have online school until the end of the year. If this were to happen here, what would be the greatest impact to you personally? For a complete grade there should be no spelling errors, proper sentences with capitals, punctuation and all that fun English stuff. There is no maximum or minimum length, just answer the 3 questions. Don't forget your full name as a signature. Make sure you send class emails to jdavis@jacomputer.org

After the whiteboard, check to make sure you have finished the common assignments. (First Email, Who am I Survey, and Syllabus email, which should be sent to syllabus@jacomputers.org and a parent.)

Tomorrow there will be a quiz over the syllabus and you will begin your class work. Those who are not in Intro to Computers will need to tell me which class they are going to take. Email me if you have questions about this.

3/17/20 - Welcome Students. As we work online from home this quarter also check Google Classroom. Class Code: u5a6lhw

Each day you're required to read the whiteboard page. Here's today's:

Send me an email. Use your preferred email program (gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc). Tell me a little about yourself in ten complete sentences. Even if you have done this in the past, tell me 10 new things about yourself(be creative but not TMI). My email address is always at the top of the whiteboard page (use the @ sign instead of the word (at)). My email address for class is jdavis @ jacomputers(DOT)org. DO NOT send email for class to jdavis @ jajags. You receive credit each day for doing the whiteboard assignment unless it says it is optional. Optional whiteboards will be extra credit. You always should include a subject for your email and your name at the bottom (this is good e-mail etiquette as well). If I do not give you a specific email subject use: Whiteboard (Date) so today's email subject should be: Whiteboard 3/17/20. After you do the whiteboard each day, begin work on your common assignments and work until they are complete, then you will begin your specific class assignments. So today, go back to the home page and then after the word Common, click on Assignments (these are due by or before 3 pm TOMORROW). When you are finished with the common assignments, go on to the assignments for your specific class.

Ask for help when needed(use Classroom for Questions!) After the whiteboard make sure to work through the common assignments then begin your class. Assignments for the two days so far: Whiteboard 1, First Email, Survey, Syllabus email.
