My name is Betsy Sava and I am an 11th grade student at Jefferson Academy High School.
I have the unique opportunity and privilege this August to attend World Youth Day in Madrid, along with ten other kids from my church, St. Marks. The purpose of the program is to promote international understanding while building faith among America’s youth.
The 14 day experience includes a pilgrimage throughout Spain and France while meeting the other millions of Catholic youths visiting for the same experience.

I am extremely excited about visiting another part of the world and gaining a better understanding of my faith.
By being with so many other teenagers and young adults who share my moral convictions, I hope that this experience will help me become a better Christian,
and in turn a better person.
I also hope to share my experience with the other members of my parish and generate excitement for other youth activities.
